The”Objects Cherished by the Kikkawa clan” exhibition

The Kikkawa clan, former lords of the Iwakuni Domain, have a longhistory dating back to the Kamakura period, and possess a wealth of artand craft items in addition to ancient documents. Besides valuable items
such as historically significant bestowed gifts and weapons used in battle,there are also works of unknown origin that show signs of being cherishedby the Kikkawa family.
This exhibition focuses on art and craft items, showcasing the possessionsthat the Kikkawa clan has carefully preserved to the present day. Enjoy avariety of “cherished” items, including hanging scrolls, folding screens, andceramics, as well as paintings, waka poems, and classical texts by the headof the Kikkawa clan and his wife, all on display for the first time, includingKano Osanobu’s”Fujo Yu-rakuzu（Women at Leisure）.”
